W: ⑩May I help you?
M: ⑩⑫I'm looking for the shoe department.
W: Women's or men's?
M: Uh, children's actually. I'm here with my son.
W: The children's shoe department is on the third floor. ⑪And right now we are on the fourth floor. You can also find children's shoes in the sporting goods department right over there. See the tennis bats on the wall?
M: Oh, I see... Now, where is my son?
W: I guess he may be in the toy department.
M: Where is the toy department? Is the toy department over there too?
W: No, it is on the fifth floor, next to the restaurant.

Lofton is a little village not far from Manchester. Like many other villages near towns or cities, ⑰it is clean and quiet. Not many families live there, so the people all know each other. Most of them are friendly and helpful.
Although their homes are in Lofton, many people have jobs in Manchester. Some work in big factories. A few work in shops or offices. ⑲Most of these people go to work by train. It usually takes about half an hour to get from Lofton to Manchester.
⑱In the evening a lot of people like watching TV. If they go to see a film or go to a concert, they have to go to Manchester. There are more cinemas in Manchester than in Lofton.
Life in Lofton may not be so exciting as the life in the larger cities, ⑳but it can be just as interesting. That is why people in Lofton love their village.
